CAD design and reverse engineering

Only have a sketch on paper? No problem. Email it to us, and we’ll convert it into precise CAD drawings.
We can also replicate existing parts using traditional methods or advanced 3D scanning — ideal for complex or legacy components.

CNC sheet metal laser cutting

Precise sheet metal cutting and bending

We cut mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, titanium, and more — up to 20mm thick and sheet sizes up to 2490 x 1240mm, with tolerances as tight as ±0.2mm.
Whatever we cut, we can bend. Using simulation software, we accurately calculate bend deductions, reduce waste, and deliver highly precise results — even for complex parts.

TIG welding of mild steel frame

Fabrication and assembling

We offer MIG and TIG welding, PEM fastener installation, and general fabrication — finished in bare metal or with professional powder coating in a wide range of RAL colours.
From early-stage prototypes to full production runs, no job is too small.
If you have specific requirements, just let us know — we’re flexible and ready to help.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is required for a price quote ?
The ideal scenario is a STEP file along with a PDF technical drawing and quantity required. However, if you only have a paper sketch and an idea — that’s perfectly fine. Our experienced engineering team can handle everything from scratch.
  • How long is my quote valid for ?
All quotes are valid for 14 calendar days.
  • What is your lead time ?
Our standard production lead time is 6 working days. We also offer premium fast-track services for an additional fee — just let us know your timeline and we’ll find the best solution. Contact us at: info@nitrafabrication.co.uk
  • What affects the final price ?
Here are the main factors that influence the cost, from most to least impact: Quantity – Higher quantities often reduce the price per unit. Fabrication complexity – Processes like welding require skilled labour and may cost more. Finish – Powder coating or special finishes can significantly affect pricing. Number of bends – Flat parts are the most economical. More bends = higher cost. Material – Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium are most common. Note: Mild Steel will rust without surface treatment (e.g. powder coating, galvanising).
  • Do you have a minimum order ?
There’s no minimum order in terms of size or quantity. However, a minimum charge of £30 + VAT applies (does not apply to offcuts).
  • Do you provide a CAD service ?
Yes, we do. We can transform your paper sketch into professional CAD files, including: 3D model (viewable online without special software) PDF technical drawing 2D flat pattern ready for cutting We’re happy to provide CAD design services even if we’re not manufacturing the final product.
  • There is an error in my design or flat pattern. Can you fix it please?
Absolutely. Send your files to info@nitrafabrication.co.uk and we’ll make the necessary corrections to ensure everything is ready for quoting and production.
  • What materials can you cut ?
We cut Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Copper, and even Titanium using our new industrial fibre laser machine. Fibre laser cutting provides high-precision results, excellent edge quality, and is ideal for both thin and thick metals — up to 20mm thick. What materials can’t you cut? We do not cut non-metallic materials such as plastic, wood, glass, or carbon fibre.
  • What’s the largest part you can cut?
Our fibre laser can handle sheet sizes up to 2490mm x 1240mm (98in x 48.8in), with a maximum material thickness of 20mm.
  • How precise is your cutting ?
Our fibre laser offers cutting tolerances as tight as ±0.2mm, providing high-precision results suitable for both prototypes and production work.
  • Do you accept free-issue material?
Yes, we do. You're welcome to supply your own material. Please contact us at info@nitrafabrication.co.uk to confirm compatibility.
  • Are there any design rules for cutting?
Yes — one key rule: Minimum wall thickness should be at least half the material thickness. For example, when cutting 10mm thick material, the minimum wall thickness should be 5mm. This helps prevent structural weakness or cut errors. An example of error is a hole too close to the edge.
  • What material thicknesses can you bend?
We can bend material from 0.5mm to 20mm thick. For thicker materials, limitations may apply depending on the bend radius and part design. Send us your drawings and we’ll confirm what’s possible. info@nitrafabrication.co.uk
  • What angle tolerance do you work to?
We work to an angle tolerance of ±1° for consistent precision.
  • What is bend allowance?
Bend allowance refers to the additional material required to accommodate the bend radius, preventing compression or excessive stretching of the material. Precise bend allowance calculations are essential to ensure the final dimensions match the design specifications.
